Top 10 Reasons to Hunt with Wolverine Valley Outfitters

10 Top Reasons to Hunt the Wolverine!!

1. Location, Location, Location. It’s the rule for buying real estate and it is the golden rule for hunting big game. We are located in the prime hunting area in Northern BC. Region 7b is regarded as British Columbia’s finest hunting grounds in the province. Anyone who has hunted BC will agree that Northern BC, in particular region 7b, is the Serengeti of North American Big Game Hunting.

2. Quantity & Quality. The Wolverine Valley is home to many Big Game species including big trophy class Canadian moose, rocky mountain elk, peace district trophy mountain whitetails, mule deer, giant mountain black bear & grizzly bear, mountain caribou & goat and more!! Our big game animals do meet and exceed Boone & Crocket minimums.

3. No Quotas. Unlike all hunting areas in the central and southern regions of BC, the Wolverine has no quotas assigned to them by the Ministry of Environment. This is an indicator of very healthy big game population in terms of size and numbers.

4. No Resident Hunting Pressure. Hunting regions in the central and southern districts are subjected most times to heavy resident hunting pressure. This can and will have an effect on your overall hunting experience and game quality while hunting BC.

5. Active Game Management Plan. Wolverine Valley Outfitters works closely with the MOE and also utilizes its own models to develop and maintain trophy quality animals in its territories.

6. Passionate Hard Working Guides. Our guides come to us with a sincere passion to be the “Best They Can Be”. They give 110% on every hunt and love everything about their career and are very personable. They are there for “YOU”. Our guides have to meet or exceed our rigorous training standards performed by our very own guide school located on site.

7. High Success Rate. For reasons already mentioned, Wolverine Valley Outfitters enjoys a high success rate on its hunts. We don’t need to overbook our seasons and therefore can provide “quality” one on one time with all our guests.

8. 100% Experience Success Rate. Many times we are told by our valued clients that the experience is just as important as the hunt. We are pleased to say that we understand this completely. When someone comes to BC they have a vision of tall mountain vistas and open country for miles around filled with multiple game species and we are proud to say that not only will your expectations be met, but exceeded. So many places in BC are flat and the forests are too thick to penetrate, but that is definitely not the case here. Great photos, Great Stories, Great Success!!

9. A Hunt Designed at Your Pace. No matter what your physical condition is, we have a plan that will work for you.

10. Family Run Operation. We are all family up at the Wolverine and we treat everyone with respect and dignity. Our family grows each and every year and we are hoping YOU will be the next member!!!

Wolverine Valley Outfitters introduces Mountain Whitetail

A good time was had by all during this years Mountain Whitetail hunt at Wolverine Valley Outfitters. The hunt began with a significant snow storm to start things off followed by rain and then freezing rain. This lasted the first few days and graced us with about 7 inches of snow and an inch of crusty ice on top. So stealth through the woods was non existant for a majority of the hunt. The first 4 days was a bit challenging with the conditions and the deer not wanting to move and then this wonderful phenomanon called the rut kicked in and things began to change. Doe's were on the move and even the odd buck began to appear along with the elk and moose. The foresr became alive with activity and the hunt was on. Two very respecatable deer were shot within 15 minutes of each other on one morning. A third massive looking mountain buck was called in to 60 yards on the second last day of the hunt but the was unable to get a clean shot off. All in all it was a very successful hunt and we had some great laughs and great guests in camp that made it that much more fun.

100% success on this years Velvet Moose Hunt!!

Wolverine had a 100% success rate on this years Velvet Moose Hunt. The hunt runs Aug 15 and closes Sept 1st of every year. The velvet hunts are interesting as moose are plentiful and there are no tri-palm restrictions. This hunt is more of a meat hunt and not a trophy hunt for obvious reasons. In this photo Tim is guiding Bob from Washington on his successul velvet hunt. As this moose was shot in the late evening, there was big concern as a blonde grizzly was spotted moments before harvesting the moose and a nice Timber Wolf was in the area at the same time as well. Time was of the essence and the night ended up good overall. Always an adventure in the Wolverine Valley. Congratualtions Bob!!!

A 51" Wolverine Moose is going to Oregon

Bruce from Oregon harvested this very respectable 51" Bull from the Wolverine Valley this season. Bruce managed a 165 yard shot and did what he needed to do. A little bit of effort was needed to extract the bull but when all was said and done, happy faces were all around. Stew was guiding Bruce and stories of there being more than one bull at the scene was very exciting to hear.

Larger bulls are typical for Northern BC and the Wolverine Valley is living up to its reputation for big Northern BC moose.

A new Wolverine shoulder mount is going to Mexico

Victor from Mexico clobbered this nice bull this season on the second last days of his hunt. He was guided by Geoff and the two of them have quite a story on how they brought this bad boy in. We are still waiting the final score but this bull is a nice one no matter how you look at it. He measured in the 50's on the spread and had five on the one tine and three on the other. The Wolverine Valley is full of moose and they come in all shapes and sizes. "Big John" continues to allude us and was spotted twice this season. He is a massive bull measuring 65 inch across his two pieces of plywood easily. The fog rolled down the mountain and saved him the last time. There is always next season for "Big John".

Congratulations Victor!!!

Hunting the Wolverine

To be fortunate enough to have the opportunity to set foot in the Wolverine Valley is simply an experience that cannot be descibed in words. For some of you, you know what I am talking about. Words cannot describe. Simply the expression on a hunters face when they turn to you with that look is enough to know that they have reached that moment only few will ever reach in their lifetime. Surreal is the only word I can think of. The only place we know where the word "paradise" is an understatement. To all our guests, guides and support staff, we send a very big thank you for allowing us to share together the beauty and magic that this wonderful area has to offer. It was as fullfilling or more for us to share with you this year and create memories that will live on with stories forever.

Thank You!

Sincerely;

Spring at the Wolverine Valley

The Wolverine Valley is thawing nicely this spring. Not too fast and fast enough to get us all excited about the upcoming season. We havent been skunked once travelling up the valley bottom and noticing wildlife everywhere. The winter has been exceptional on the animals with whitetail, mule deer, elk and moose showing themselves on a daily basis. Another week or two and we will be graced with the presence of the resident Grizzly and Black Bears awaking and foraging for there spring breakfast. We hope to have our satellite internet dish up and working by mid June and will be able to update our blog directly from the Valley.
Looks like we have met a friend here at base camp. A local pine martin has decided its allot of fun to walk on the cabin roofs at night and scratch the doors keeping us awake between 1:00am and 3:00 am. He seems to enjoy fining our fresh milk outside when we hide it on the snowbank while our propane fridge is fixed.
