100% success on this years Velvet Moose Hunt!!

Wolverine had a 100% success rate on this years Velvet Moose Hunt. The hunt runs Aug 15 and closes Sept 1st of every year. The velvet hunts are interesting as moose are plentiful and there are no tri-palm restrictions. This hunt is more of a meat hunt and not a trophy hunt for obvious reasons. In this photo Tim is guiding Bob from Washington on his successul velvet hunt. As this moose was shot in the late evening, there was big concern as a blonde grizzly was spotted moments before harvesting the moose and a nice Timber Wolf was in the area at the same time as well. Time was of the essence and the night ended up good overall. Always an adventure in the Wolverine Valley. Congratualtions Bob!!!

A 51" Wolverine Moose is going to Oregon

Bruce from Oregon harvested this very respectable 51" Bull from the Wolverine Valley this season. Bruce managed a 165 yard shot and did what he needed to do. A little bit of effort was needed to extract the bull but when all was said and done, happy faces were all around. Stew was guiding Bruce and stories of there being more than one bull at the scene was very exciting to hear.

Larger bulls are typical for Northern BC and the Wolverine Valley is living up to its reputation for big Northern BC moose.

A new Wolverine shoulder mount is going to Mexico

Victor from Mexico clobbered this nice bull this season on the second last days of his hunt. He was guided by Geoff and the two of them have quite a story on how they brought this bad boy in. We are still waiting the final score but this bull is a nice one no matter how you look at it. He measured in the 50's on the spread and had five on the one tine and three on the other. The Wolverine Valley is full of moose and they come in all shapes and sizes. "Big John" continues to allude us and was spotted twice this season. He is a massive bull measuring 65 inch across his two pieces of plywood easily. The fog rolled down the mountain and saved him the last time. There is always next season for "Big John".

Congratulations Victor!!!

Hunting the Wolverine

To be fortunate enough to have the opportunity to set foot in the Wolverine Valley is simply an experience that cannot be descibed in words. For some of you, you know what I am talking about. Words cannot describe. Simply the expression on a hunters face when they turn to you with that look is enough to know that they have reached that moment only few will ever reach in their lifetime. Surreal is the only word I can think of. The only place we know where the word "paradise" is an understatement. To all our guests, guides and support staff, we send a very big thank you for allowing us to share together the beauty and magic that this wonderful area has to offer. It was as fullfilling or more for us to share with you this year and create memories that will live on with stories forever.

Thank You!

Sincerely;
